Dr Ruchit Patel

Dr Ruchit Patel is an experienced Adult Psychiatrist having completed his psychiatric training in London after graduating from University of Wales, College of Medicine. He has held an NHS Consultant post since 2012 and since then he has held different Clinical Lead and Teaching roles.

As well as being an excellent communicator, Dr Patel has a friendly and empathetic approach towards treating his patients. His caring and compassionate values together with a precise clinical acumen, developed over years of practising within both acute and community psychiatric services allow him to approach his patients in a holistic manner.

He is experienced in diagnosing and treating those with Clinical Depression, Bipolar Disorders, Anxiety disorders (such as Generalised Anxiety, PTSD and OCD), Personality Disorders and Psychosis. Dr Patel is also trained in the diagnosis and management of those with Adult ADHD. More recently, being the Consultant for an Early Intervention Service, he predominantly assesses and treats younger people.

He is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatry, holds a position of Director of Undergraduate Education, is an appraiser of Consultant peers and strives to maintain a high standard of clinical practice. Outside of work, Dr Patel loves spending time with family and friends, believes himself to be a MasterChef and is an avid follower of international cricket.
