Merve Ozdas – CBT Adult & Child Therapist

Merve is an experienced Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist working both in the NHS CAMHS services and privately. Merve has experience working with adults in the IAPT services and children and adolescent’s mental health.

She holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Mental Health and Psychological Therapies with Queen Mary, University of London. In addition to this, she holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) with the Kings College London University.

Merve works with a range of common mental health difficulties including, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Specific Phobia, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Border Line Personality Disorder, Social Anxiety, Health Anxiety, Separation Anxiety, Low Self-Esteem, and Depression. She also has experience working with parents and families, where she focuses more on relational difficulties within family systems.

Merve has a particular interest in neurodevelopmental difficulties and has experience working with children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Merve uses her excellent clinical skills to adapt her CBT treatment and offer flexibility for individuals diagnosed with ASD and/or ADHD.

Merve also has training in the following areas:

-Traditional Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Low intensity & High Intensity)

-Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

-Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy

-Autism Assessments

Merve’s focus in therapy is to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings in a very open manner. She holds an empathetic stance, and acknowledges the importance of context, culture and diversity and how this could further influence how we think and feel about ourselves and interaction with others.

Merve enjoys seeing clients on Saturday’s, which may be helpful for clients that can’t make weekday appointments. She is also available for phone and Skype sessions between Monday – Friday (evening).

Merve is a fluent Turkish speaking therapist and offers sessions in both English and Turkish and is a member of British Psychological Society (BPS) and, British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

When not working, Merve enjoys spending time with friends and family, and one of her main interest areas is to explore countries and traditions.
